Médéric Debacq
Médéric graduated from the CRR in Lille in bassoon, harpsichord, chamber music, early music and composition.
In 2003, he was accepted into Marc Trenel's class at the CNSMD in Paris, where he won a prize for German bassoon and chamber music in 2007, while continuing to enrich his training with baroque bassoon and Gregorian chant. He then went on to study with Gilbert Audin and Lionel Bord in the advanced woodwind concerto cycle, before completing a Master's degree in orchestral performance with Alfonso Venturieri at the Geneva Conservatory of Music in 2010.
Médéric regularly performs as a soloist (Mozart bassoon concerto with the Lille CRR orchestra, Pleyel concertante with the CNSMD prizewinners' orchestra, etc.) and has recorded Hummel's Grand Concerto for bassoon with orchestra.
Alongside his studies, in 2005 he obtained a position as bassoonist with the Gendarmerie Mobile orchestra and in 2012 played as principal bassoon with the Ulster Orchestra (Northern Ireland). He is currently principal bassoon with the Paris Mozart Orchestra and regularly performs with the most prestigious orchestras, including the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de Paris, the Opéra national de Paris and the Orchestre national Bordeaux Aquitaine, under the baton of the greatest conductors.
Médéric is fully committed to the creation and dissemination of contemporary repertoire. He is a member of the Multilatérale ensemble, the 2e2m ensemble and the C Barré ensemble, and works with the Cairn ensemble and Musicatreize.
Passionate about teaching, which feeds his career as a performer on a daily basis, he holds the Certificat d'Aptitude and teaches at the CRR de Paris and the CRD de Bourg-la-Reine/Sceaux.
