Multilatérale is embarking on a tour of China, in Hangzhou, to develop its international presence, particularly in East Asia. The project is composed of three concerts. The first two are 'Musical Portraits', two programmes featuring a dialogue between four French and Swiss composers: Yann Robin, Franck Bedrossian, Heinz Holliger and Michael Jarrell. The third concert is the film-concert "Scarecrow", an original composition by Martin Matalon based on three medium-length films by Buster Keaton.

Musical portraits

In this programme, Multilatérale presents a series of concerts highlighting cross-generational dialogues between renowned French and Swiss composers. In two separate programmes, Double portrait and Regardons les croisés, the Ensemble explores the unique musical worlds of four major creative figures: Franck Bedrossian, Yann Robin, Heinz Holliger and Michael Jarrell.

Scarecrow

A director of genius, mime and acrobat to the point of freeing himself from the fundamental rules of gravity, Buster Keaton is truly the alpha and omega of silent cinema, overturning the possible to take us on a journey through a dreamlike and droll world.
Martin Matalon, an exemplary master of cine-concert, has decided to take three of Keaton's short films and bring them together in a show where the energy and vivacity of the images go hand in hand with those of the sounds.
