As part of its regional residency in the Val d'Oise, the Ensemble Multilatérale is proposing a project for Conservatoires in the Centre Val d'Oise area (Montmorency Valley sector) based on Berio's Folk songs. At the heart of the project is a contemporary orchestration of traditional songs from all over the world.

After several months' work on four pieces from the repertoire and four pieces commissioned for the occasion with students from all the conservatoires and participants in this project, a final concert will be held on Saturday 25 May 2024 at the Théâtre Madeleine Renaud in Taverny under the baton of conductor Felix Benati. The programme will include Folk songs by Luciano Berio, Children's folk songs by Karl Naegelen, extracts from The book of days by Mérédith Monk, Oi Sala Sala by Vyautas Miskinis and four Ukrainian, Angolan, Kabyle and Romanian folk songs, collected a few months earlier, which will be revisited by young composers at the start of their careers and in the process of becoming professionals.
