Cyril Ciabaud


Born in Menton in 1982, he starts the oboe in Francois Meyer's class in his hometown conservatory. In 2003 he enters Lyon CNSM in JL Capezzali's class where he will graduate in 2007 with distinction for his contemporary creation.

The same year he wins the "special price" from the international oboe competition "Giuseppe Ferlendis" in Italy and is selected by the Academy of the Festival de Lucerne and works under the direction of Pierre Boulez and Peter Eotvos.

He plays as a soloist for orchestras such as the Cappella Istropolitana de Bratislava, the Orchestre des Lau­réats du Conservatoire de Paris, la Musique des Gardiens de la Paix de Paris, l'Ensemble baroque de Provence, l'Orchestre de chambre de Mantova, le Kammerensemble of Köln...

He is invited as a solo oboe by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and plays under the direction of Kurt Masur, Myung-Whun Chung, Philippe Jordan, Pierre Boulez, Esa-Pekka Salonen...

Cyril Ciabaud is currently oboe soloist for the Orchestre National de Lille under the direction of Jean Claude Casade­sus, member of the Ensemble Multilatérale since 2011 and Zelenka Quintet.
